How we count
- Visitor
- A person, once a day. The address is hashed under a key that is deleted after two days, never stored, and cannot count twice in a day.
- Visit
- One person's pages with no gap over thirty minutes. The tab reports once a minute while somebody is there, and stops after five minutes without a sign of them.
- Page view
- One page loaded, anywhere on the site.
- Click
- A person going through an advert's link, once per person per advert per day. Prefetches and previews are not counted.
- Impression
- At least half the advert on screen, on a visible tab, for one continuous second, once per visit per advert per day. A click counts as one too, so a click rate cannot pass 100%.
- Dropped
- Bots, crawlers, datacenter addresses, headless browsers, referrer spam, anything that never loaded a page, more than forty people from one address in a day, and anyone past 60 events a minute or 8,000 a day.
